Purpose
Award one Liberty High School student graduating in May 2024 with a scholarship of $1,000 to be applied to college tuition.
Criteria
  1. Graduate from Liberty High School in Fauquier County, VA by May 2024 with an overall grade of B or higher (GPA 3.0 or higher).
  2. Pursue a degree from a 2 or 4 year college or university in the one of the following fields: STEM, liberal arts, business, legal studies, healthcare, or workforce skills (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, welding, etc.)

  1. Who are the Friends of Sumerduck?
    The Friends of Sumerduck is a group of concerned citizens of Sumerduck, VA who wish to provide financial assistance to graduates of Liberty High School in Fauquier County, VA.
  2. How many scholarships are awarded?
    At the moment, only one scholarship of $1,000 per year is awarded to one student who is graduating from Liberty High School in Fauquer County, VA.
  3. How are scholarship funds distributed?
    The Friends of Sumerduck will distribute the scholarship funds directly to the school where the scholarship awardee is attending. The sholarship funds will be applied directly to the student's tuition bill. When the scholarship is awarded, the Friends of Sumerduck will reach out to the student and coordinate the details of scholarship funds distribtuion.
  4. How is my information handled?
    The information you submit during the scholarship application process is not shared with anyone outside of the Friends of Sumerduck. The information will be deleted six months after you have submitted it.
